Your impact

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Data Centre team in Bangkok, Thailand.

This role focuses on delivering high-quality mechanical engineering solutions for mission-critical facilities across Thailand and the Asia-Pacific region.

Responsible for design development, site inspections, and providing engineering support during the construction phase to ensure compliance with design intent and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & EngineeringPerform and review detailed mechanical design calculations, including HVAC load analysis, airflow distribution, and system sizing.Prepare technical specifications, reports, and functional descriptions for mechanical systems.Develop sustainable and energy-efficient mechanical solutions for data centres.Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (MEP, structural, architectural) to ensure integrated design solutions.Utilize BIM and 3D modeling tools for design development and coordination.
  • Project & Client EngagementParticipate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical workshops.Support proposal preparation, bids, and technical presentations.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Construction & Site SupportConduct regular site inspections during construction to verify compliance with design specifications and quality standards.Provide engineering support during the construction phase, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and resolving technical issues.Assist in commissioning and testing of mechanical systems to ensure operational readiness.
  • Compliance & QualityEnsure adherence to Thai building codes, international standards, and Jacobs’ quality management processes.Implement project monitoring, reporting, and risk management practices
  • Here's what you'll need

    To be a successful candidate, you shall possess: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license with the Council of Engineers Thailand or eligibility to obtain.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on data centre or mission-critical projects.

    Deep knowledge and experience in HVAC systems, chilled water plants, CRAC/CRAH units, and energy efficiency strategies for data centre projects.
  • Proven experience in design and construction-phase support, including site inspections and commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of Thai codes and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.).
  • Familiarity with sustainability and green building practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools, and mechanical design software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
